Natural Ways to Boost Your Vision
Try naming one thing you do every day that doesn’t involve using your eyes. Pretty hard, right? From picking out clothes in the morning to driving a car, vision is one of the most important senses we have. So it’s only natural that people want the best vision possible.
Though the best way to improve your eyesight is with glasses or, our personal favorite, LASIK, you can also try these natural methods.
Remember when mom told you to eat your carrots — mom knows best! Certain foods, like carrots, leafy greens, and whole grains have been known to slow your eyes’ rate of deterioration as you age and even ward off inflammation.
It’s no surprise that exercise is good for your body, nearly every healthcare professional will tell you that it’s important to exercise every day. While most people think of exercise as a way of improving their heart and lungs, it also has a great impact on your eye health. Exercise also increases blood flow and oxygen — two things your eyes need to stay healthy!
Eye yoga — it’s real and it’s beneficial! “Yoga for your eyes” is the practice of strengthening your eyes. The stronger and healthier your eyes are, the better your vision will be. Visit our blog for a full list of detailed eye exercises you can do at home or in the office.
Rest and Relaxation
Your eyes are muscles, so while they need to be worked out from time to time, they also need to rest and recover. If you stare at a computer screen all day, take frequent walks around the office to give your eyes a break. While watching TV, get up during the commercials and look at something other than a screen.
