Can I Afford LASIK Eye Surgery?

One of the most common questions we get here at Barry Wasserman’s is, "How much does LASIK cost?" Unfortunately, it’s not exactly a question we can give a straight-forward answer to. The cost of a LASIK procedure depends on a few things, like your eye health, current vision, and follow up needs.

But, what we can definitively say is that we work hard to make LASIK affordable for everyone!

The Cost of LASIK

LASIK typically costs between $2,000 and $4,000 per eye. But before you let those number send you running for your glasses, remember that this is a one-time procedure. Plus, you won’t have to worry about buying glasses or contacts ever again or at least for a decade or two.

Our goal is to make LASIK as affordable as possible so that everyone can enjoy the life-changing benefits of this surgery. That’s why Dr. Wasserman partnered with Wells Fargo to offer his patients some of the best LASIK financing options in the industry.

What does this mean for you? It means you don’t have to put any money down before the procedure and you can pay as little as $138 per eye, per month.

No Interest if Paid in Full

Though we have multiple plans to choose from, one of our most popular is the No Interest if Paid in Full promotion. Just like its name suggests, you don’t have to pay any interest if your balance is paid off in full within a previously agreed upon time period.

Even More Ways to Save

If all of that wasn’t good enough, we also educate people on additional ways to save that are unaffiliated with our office. A few things to consider if you’re saving for LASIK are:

  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA): By putting pre-taxed dollars into this account, you can use money that would have otherwise gone to taxes. But it’s important to remember that the money put in this account has to be used in full before the end of the calendar year (because you either use it or lose it) and it can only be spent on certain medical procedures.
  • Health Savings Account: Similar to an FSA, a Health Savings Account lets you save pre-taxed dollars and use them for certain medical expenses not covered by insurance.
  • Third Party Vision Plans: Many insurance and vision plans offer special benefits and discounts for LASIK surgery. However, if you’d like to take advantage of these benefits, you must choose a provider who has been deemed a preferred provider. Luckily for you, Dr. Wasserman is a preferred provider!
